Tinubu’s health is of grave concern to the Nation simply because he is a front runner in the upcoming presidential race. Like him or hate him, the possibility of a Tinubu Presidency becomes bolder by the day.
What with the current unraveling of the PDP occasioned by thier inability to tame the loose Canon named hurricane Wike. The Labour Party candidate at some point will wake up from the hallucinating effects of a shallow popularity buoyed by a fleeting youthful crowd
So as we stare at Tinubu all we see are two major hurdles- his perjury case and his Health. The perjury case if not careful may take him out even before the race even as his health continues to be a source of major concern to all sides.
The Pyrate Confratenity recently stirred the hornets nest with a clip of its members deriding him and making a mockery of his ambition despite his seeming frail Health conditions.
Rightly so Prof Wole Soyinka the iconic founder of the confratenity came out to boldly condemn the action in very strong terms. This however didn’t stop popular Musician and activist, Dede Mabiouku to wax his own single on the same matter.
The most blatant of this assaults on his health has been that of a beautiful young light skinned lady who in very vulgar terms have asked to have sex with Jagaban.
She pleaded for his numbers so that she can offer herself to him. She concluded by saying she would be satisfied even if it was just oral sex she got.
As expected, this has attracted much odium from the public. Observers from both sides of the fence have looked at it in united distaste.
But the essence of that message and it’s target is not lost on me. That is a bold and strategic assault on Tinubus soft under belly targeted at his base- the poor illiterate urban voters. The language used, the model used are all symbols of the demographic. So the connection is perfect and the lateral meaning is delivered to devastating effect.
This was strategy at its best. The vulgarity while putting off the literate demographic still leaves an after taste in the mouth while keeping the issue of Tinubus health on the front burner of public discourse.
On its targeted audience, it shows tinubu as a withered old man with no vigour and no ‘action’. The clip will elicit laughter, derision and a challenge to the model to leave Tinubu and come to them for ‘ better action’ a real ‘Emilokan’ call. Let me ask, can you see Tinubu and sex on the same page. When you think of sex, you think of energy, vigor, strength and vitality that’s not Tinubu .
When you think of Tinubu in that space, how do you react? Be truthful, is there a nexus? To me, this is the single most devastating blow on the Tinubu mystique cos it carried the weight and powerful pull of sex to throw a punch that would be really difficult to contain.
This is unfair.
