Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State has been absolved of any blame for the maladministration of Zamfara state in the last eight years and more.
In a statement made by Comrade Imisi Olaleye the Secretary General of Ezeref Foundation in the South West of Nigeria, the executive governor of Zamfara state who has just been two years in the saddle of government has nothing to do with the failure of past governments of the state, in putting in place the necessary infrastructures that would have put the state ahead in the economic growth.
Eulogising the performance of the governor in the past two years in the state, Comrade Imisi Olaleye commended the performance of Dr Bello Matawalle Mohammed Mon for his gracious performance and development in the health sector of the state, the provision of good roads, the implementation of capital projects in the state’s education sector, the building of a new governor’s lodge, the ongoing construction work at Gusau five star Hotel to boost tourism in the state, and many more of such developmental projects which spreads across the state.
“These are what the present governor has done, which cannot be comparable to the previous government which was there for the whole of eight years and has nothing to show for it,” he said.
“Upon taking the mantle of leadership as the Executive Governor of Zamfara State on the 29th of May 2019, His Excellency Bello Mohammed MoN (Matawallen Maradun), did not waste time in indicating his interest and passion in restoring peace to the state, transforming the economy of the state and creating a conducive atmosphere for investment, business development and partnerships for the state and prospective foreign and local investors.
“His Excellency Governor Bello Matawalle swung into action, setting up machinery in motion to enable him achieve his vision, by quickly establishing the Investment and Public Private Partnership Directorate, and appointing a Special Adviser to head the Directorate. “So, the success being recorded by Governor Bello Matawalle is not far connected to the fact that His Excellency is an all-rounder and a man on a mission to change the narrative in Zamfara State in terms of providing adequate infrastructures, and developmental projects in the education, health and economic sector of the State.”
Comrade Imisi Olaleye went on in his statement, to call for a second term for Governor Bello Matawalle come 2023 governorship election. “For the good of Zamfara state and its peace loving people, I advocate and call for a second term in office, for Governor Bello Matawalle, his performance so far, has made him to deserve a second term,” he added.
