I have been inundated by queries and enquiries on the viral video of highly respected Khalifa Muhamadu Sanusi II in which he had some very strong words for Nigeria and our so called leaders.
Sadly, this speech which reverberating across the land at the time it was made has now been refurbished and pushed out to make it look as if he just made the speech now and in response to the quagmire we seem to be facing at this time in our country.
Let me state categorically that the said speech contained in that video was made on the occasion of my highly regarded stage Play – Emir Sanusi : Truth in Time.
The Play which held 7th August, 2023 at the Agip Recital Hall of the Muson Centre saw an emotional Khalifa Sanusi take the stage to deliver one of the most passionate speeches I have had the good fortune of listening to.
Let me state here and very categorically, that the tenets of that speech still rings true with the seeming vacuous leadership we still find ourselves hence the huge acceptance of the speech by Nigerians even today.
But if we are going to stand a chance of redirecting ourselves as a people, we must always put things in its right context and this context is the fact that the speech was made in 2022 during the unfortunate Mohammadu Buhari regime and not now in the unfortunate Bola Ahmed Tinubu Regime.
