Last Saturday, the Presidential Candidate of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso told the Labour Party Presidential standard bearer, Mr. Peter Obi to move forward and accept being his Vice presidential candidate. In his elevated ego, kwankwaso described his offer as “a golden opportunity” which according to him , “maybe disaster”, if Obi and indeed ndigbo fail to accept his offer. He predicated his assertion on self rated ego of being more qualified than Mr PETER OBI.
Obviously, from the tone of Kwankwaso, he did quickly reminded Nigerians , especially the Nigeria youths who has risen to take over their country for better, that he belongs to the old Oder which inflicted on our country the pains and woes which this movement want to change and whose reasons for being on the Presidential race is self serving and not for the goods of the country, portraying the old saying that dog does not learn new tricks at the old age.
He belongs to the old Oder and would certainly not bring anything desirable to Peter Obi’s government but libility, if made the later’s running mate. One had thought that the astute politician Senator Musa Kwankwaso would use his appearance on the channel television to tell Nigerians how much he left in the kano state treasury as two terms governor, what investment he made for the good people of kano state, more importantly where he met and how better he left Nigeria security as the formal minister of Defence.
“Prophet Kwankwaso” has spoken, perhaps with all his mortal assurances and as his innate pride dictates. However let me quickly remind him of the message and wisdom in Shakespeare’s words when he posits: ” what can be avoided, whose ends is proposed by the mighty gods”. In other words, Shakespeare realizes that whatever destiny which is a super natural phenomenon has decreed, no mortal clutches can seize it’s wheel.
It is paramount this time to have a brief flashback on the most critical needs of our nation Nigeria. They are many but on the scale of preference, it’s security and Economy. These two monsters are standing like giants terrorising the livelihood and existence of the average Nigerian. Today, scores of people are killed everyday in Nigeria by unknown criminal elements. Citizens can no longer sleep with their two eyes closed and hunger have taken over the land like a flood.
Of a truth, Kwankwaso’s statement clearly shows that he does not even understand the problem of this country now. If it is so, then one would expect him to have a rethink and under study the system rather than making unguided statements.
KWANKWANSO has just missed the FLIGHT to new NIGERIA
The period we are in now, doesn’t give room for ethnic rating nor for show of strength. The situation we have found ourselves requires, sacrifice, humility, and compromise, so that the common good will be achieved. His excellence the distinguished Senator failed to read the mood of the country to consequently know that Nigerians is yearning for new Nigeria where Equity, fairness, selfless leadership, productivity and sound judgements reigns, not tribal nor religious sentiments but a pair with National spirit and capacity to provide Nigeria with security and sound economy.
A close profile of the personalities of Peter Obi and Major Hamza al- Mustapha obviously reveals that the duo have strong grip of the two areas posing the biggest challenge to the Nigerian Nation. While Peter Obi is grounded in how to revamp Nigeria Economy, Major Hamza Al- Mustapha of the Action Alliance ( AA) is undoubtedly possessed a broad knowledge and capabilities to handle the security challenges of the nation based on his wealth of experiences in that area.
If providence will bring them together to rule this country, maybe Nigerian may smile again.
