
In recognition of its dynamic cutting-edge marketing communication strategy, Nigerian Breweries Plc. (NB) was awarded in five different categories at the recently concluded 10th edition of the National Marketing Stakeholders’ Summit & Brands & Advertising Awards of Excellence that was held at the Harbour Point Hall, Victoria Island, Lagos.
NB beat other multinational and indigenous brands to claim the top prize of Brand of the Year for its international beer brand Heineken. Persisting with an innovative model for the past 75 years in operation, it was also awarded the Platinum Brand Award (Corporate).
The company’s CEO, Mr Hans Essaadi was recognised as the Brand Personality of the year while its Sales Director, Uche Unigwe was recognised with the honour of Outstanding Sales Director of the Decade.
Similarly, Senior Media, Brand PR and Sponsorships Manager, Sandra Amachree received honours as Outstanding Brands and Media Personality of the Decade.

Speaking at the ceremony, Sales Director, Nigerian Breweries Plc; Uche Unigwe was appreciative of the recognition from the awarding body that strives to reward excellence in branding and marketing.
“This recognition means a lot to me and us at Nigerian Breweries Plc. Nigerian Breweries Plc has been in existence for over 75 years and the temptation with longevity in business is the tendency to slow down, rest on our laurels and start to take things easy.”
He continued: “Recognitions like these are a constant reminder that there’s still a lot to be done. This award is a salute to the effort of every Nigerian Breweries employee, many thanks to the entire sales department. Let’s get this again next year,” he concluded.
