Organizers have announced the debut edition of the Lagos Youth Awards which comes up in December 2021.
BBN360, a thriving media company based in Lagos, Nigeria, in collaboration with some youth-based non-profit organizations in a press release disclosed that the “Lagos Youth Awards” is designed to celebrate outstanding young people who have positively contributed and excelled in their different fields of endeavor.
“In recent times, young people have been negatively represented and misconstrued as an agitated bunch but it is time to change the narratives. There is, therefore, a growing need to celebrate the youth who are driving positive change in different walks of life,” the statement read.
It further stated that, “Our intention is to celebrate outstanding young persons between the ages 18-40 years who are making impact in their chosen fields and advancing national development.
The nominees will be drawn from all walks of life including media, entertainment, entrepreneurship, arts and literature, sports, governance, public service, tech, agriculture, among others.”
This year’s theme is tagged ‘the working tribe’ which focuses on hardworking young persons who have through a dent of consistent hard work created a niche for themselves in the centre of excellence. These folks will be honored as a motivating factor for other youths to also strive for greatness in their different endeavors.
