Astounding Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Lekki Gardens Estate, Richard Nyong, is set to make history as the first private real estate developer to be honoured with the rank of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).
Instituted by the National Honours Act No. 5 of 1964 to honour Nigerians who have rendered service to the benefit of the nation, the OON has been awarded to over 70 recipients across different industries in Nigeria. Richard Nyong, a worthy recipient of this year’s award has made news for his meritorious acts of service in the real estate sector.
For years, Richard has been totally invested to not just building houses; but reshaping the landscape of real estate in West Africa. With over 11,000 units of homes constructed, over 200 investors made millionaires, and over 2 trillion naira in assets managed, Lekki Gardens Estates under Richard’s visionary leadership, has curated an exclusive portfolio of home types that have satisfied Nigerians of different classes and taste.
Richard Nyong has been described by many as young, charismatic, and courageous. His strategic contributions to national development have earned him the title “The Indisputable King of Nigeria’s Real Estate Industry.” He has not only made luxury housing affordable, but has also made the process of homeownership easy with his range of tailormade payment plans for different house types.
Before now, Richard has been a recipient of several other awards. He was awarded and named the Property Developer for the year in 2014 by the Institute for Government, Research Leadership and Technology, Real Estate Person of the year in 2014 by the leadership of Real Estate Unite, Lagos and the Property Developer of the year award also in 2014 by the City People Magazine.
The Federal Government of Nigeria through this will be recognising other distinguished Nigerians making giant strides and leaving an indelible mark on the sands of time. This investiture ceremony is slated for Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at the international Conference Centre in Abuja.
This national honour is another feather on Richard Nyong’s cap and list of accomplishments.
