Themed ‘Showstopper Week’, the fifth live show of Nigerian Idol came alive with extraordinary performances from the top 5 contestants with Dr Kaffy, the dance master, at the helm of things this week, the night was explosive with vibrant performances.
Although we were sad to see Savy Henry exit the competition, we were soon captivated by the opening act and what a performance it was. Ose Daniel started the night with an energetic rendition of Adekunle Gold’s hit song, High. His energy was unmatched as he blew the judges and audience alike with some smooth dance moves and controlled vocals.
Next up, Goodness took centre stage with a beautiful rendition of Rihanna’s We Found Love by Rihanna. Her ability to maintain her breath control while dancing utterly captivated the judges with her stunning rendition of the song.
We were definitely in for an enchanting night when the third contestant, Victory Gbakara, treated everyone to a banging version of Bruno Mars Locked Out of Heaven. Precious Mac topped his performance with her unique version of Rockabye by Clean Bandit ft Annie Marie and Sean Paul. Her vocal cords gave us the chills and had everyone applauding.
With four performances down, Quest ended the night with an explosive performance of Beyonce’s hit song, Freedom. She not only sang and danced but also rapped Kendrick Lamar’s part. She brought Queen Bey’s energy and had everyone, including the judges, bowing.
Congratulations to the top 5! We can’t wait to see more of them and who makes it to the top three next week.
