Media personality Hawa Magaji hosted a private viewing party on Africa Magic’s What Will People Say’s debut night on Friday, June 16 and it was a night of fun, food and excitement.
The Northern Belle dazzled in a pink and black corset dress as she played host on and off the screen. With tasty food and drinks, friends like Debo “Mr Macaroni” Adedayo, OAP extraordinaire, Simi Drey, and many others were dazzled as they watched her play the matchmaker for Nuel, a seeker who hoped to meet his other half out of six women.
The excitement for the show was palpable as everyone was rooting for Nuel to go home with his crush, Ariel. Their reactions when he left home with a different lady (as chosen by the audience) showed that they were sad about it.
Bringing the show to a close, Hawa shared her experience hosting the show which also doubles as her first major TV show and in an emotional moment told the attendees how nervous and anxious she was to deliver her best.
She said “I was doubting myself so much and had so much anxiety about hosting the show. I had wanted to do this for so long and didn’t know what to do after getting it. It was either the world would see me as a good host or a terrible one and it made me so scared.”
She further said “The messages from my director and producers expressing their pleasure working with me and being proud of my work just boosted and reassured me that I’m on the right path. I’m so grateful to the MultiChoice team for trusting me with this project.”
It’s fair to say that the content creator delivered as her chemistry on stage alongside the participants felt compelling.
What Will People Say which premiered on Friday, 16th June 2023, is an in-studio blind date show where the studio audience gets the final say on who, out of six hopefuls, wins a date with an eligible single man/woman known as the seeker.
In each episode, the best versions of the six admirers will be presented to the seeker. The audience and the seeker will then vote in each segment until all six admirers are whittled down to the last person standing. With 14 episodes in the first season, the show airs every Friday at 9 pm with reruns at 5:30 pm on Sunday.
