The first episode of Africa Magic’s new reality series, What Will People Say, debuted last Friday, and we got our first look at Hawa Magaji playing host and Cupid between Noel and six ladies hoping to be the perfect match for him.
Each woman had a few minutes to convince the seeker, Noel, that they might be his missing riband, it wasn’t just him they were convincing, but also the in-studio audience, who decides who matches with who.
A few minutes into the show, Nuel met the third hopeful Ariel, and it was an instant connection between them. We could feel the chemistry between them but the audience didn’t think the same and felt Lilian was a better fit for him.
Unfortunately for the seeker, the audience’s rule was ultimate, and he went home with the other lady. While it was fun watching these people try their luck at finding love, we also learnt some fun but important lessons.
Check out three lessons we learnt from the first episode:
- You Can find love in unexpected places
It was no doubt an instant connection between Nuel and Ariel. One could almost say it was love at first sight for Lilian and it just shows that you could find love anywhere and anytime, especially on a dating show.
So for anyone who rules out the possibility of finding genuine connections on dating shows, you might want to rethink.
- Breakfast comes in different ways/ You win some, you lose some
As the saying goes, Nuel chop breakfast, thanks to the audience’s choice. He might not have gone home with his first crush, but the lady might just be the best woman for him. Love comes in different ways. Anyways, we are keeping our fingers crossed for those two.
- Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it
Nuel might not have been happy with the audience’s decision, but like they say don’t knock it until you’ve tried it. Lilian might turn out to be the best thing to happen to him and we would be hearing the wedding bells for them soon. The important part is they are both open to finding love and with time they’ll find more common interests.
