In a viral clip making rounds on the internet, the publisher and Chief Executive Officer of Podium International, Ms Titilola Aboyade-Cole, has called on the educated and intellectual elites in Yorubaland to take charge and address unwarranted snipes against the person and government of President Bola Tinubu, especially by Yorùbá.
The UK based journalist frowned at the manner in which some Yoruba individuals are being used by groups of people with tribal agendas to attack our own.
Aboyade-Cole is particularly nettled by the calculated attempt by some netizens and notable bloggers of the Yoruba extraction to bring down the roof on Tinubu with the shouts of “ebi n’pa wa” (we are hungry) mantra.
We all know things are not easy and people are suffering, we also know that majority of this is being orchestrated by mischievous people who are uncomfortable with a Yorùbá President, and would do anything to make the country ungovernable. We cannot and should not join them in realising their plans.
“When Buhari was there, you were not hungry then? Was there peace in the land then? Was there a good economy and conducive environment for sustainable development?”
“Yoruba intelligentsia needs to step in and continuously educate the masses before they are used as instruments of self-destruction.
Bola Tinubu as can be seen is putting in place those measures that can yield permanent relief for Nigerians and with time, this will manifest. It shouldn’t be for Yoruba to pull down their own son, Aboyade-Cole cautions.
“What other regions may have been waiting to grab as an excuse to nail Tinubu is this unwarranted expressions we give over him. We cannot afford to nail the strongest of us by ourselves. We cannot afford to pull down the house in Joseph’s way.”
Let’s all engage in trades, farming, investments, and other side hustles to improve our economic situation.
“I call on the educated and the elites to take charge and provide the platform for positive criticisms. If The President is not yet done on his plans for good economy, we only need to keep some patience. We cannot overthrow reasoning by throwing away the baby with bathwater,” she says.
