The Executive Council
Yoruba Self-Determination Movement (YSDM)
Delaware, U.S.A
Dear Sirs/Madams,
Letter of Resignation as The Director of Media and Publicity.
I am writing to formally inform you that, effective from today the 11th of September 2023, I am resigning my position from the role of the Director of Media and Publicity of YSDM. A difficult but healthy decision I had to make for the benefit of all involved.
The Yoruba Self-Determination vision is an ideology very close to my heart, which is why I agreed to serve with everything in me in order to realize the dream of actualizing the Yoruba Nation through peaceful means (Diplomacy), for the benefit of Generations yet unborn.
The first two months in office, I put in my sweat and blood but was frustrated by some members who chose to make the department ungovernable for me and the team. Our directorate was grounded.
I encountered a lot of obstacles and attacks from different quarters, both from within and outside the movement, especially when I took a stand to defend Lagos state when she was under attack in March 2023. I sacrificed my media platform for the sake of the struggle, but it still wasn’t enough for some.
I joined this movement on the basis of Professor Akintoye’s statement “We will leave that country without firing a single bullet.” This seems to no longer be the case as violence seems to be creeping in gradually.
From where I’m standing, the executive council has become a house divided by itself, may God let it stand. I no longer feel safe, comfortable, or protected, and it has begun to affect my productivity and well-being.
It has been a great privilege to be able to serve the highest coordinating body of this movement as a Director, I assure you that my support for the Yoruba vision and our people is unwavering. Thank you all for giving me the opportunity to be part of this council. May God bless us all. Oodua a gbe wa o.
Yours Sincerely,
Titilola Aboyade-Cole
