The emergence of Hon. Solomon Izuchukwu Onah on the domain of politics dates back to 1998. He began as a fanatical supporter of PDP at the birth of the party in 1998. Not surprisingly, Hon. Izuchukwu Onah soon became the youth leader in his ward. In 1999, Deputy Governor Itanyi made him an SSA; by 2006, he was on the Convention Committee of PDP thanks to the late Hon. Bernard Eze; in 2012 he was appointed CSO to Hon. Godwin Abonyi, the then LGA Chairman of Udenu. Hon. Izuchukwu Onah was also the Personal Assistant to Rt. Dr Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, who was in the House Reps. So, Hon. Izuchukwu was already a politician of considerable worth a long time before Ugwuanyi became Governor. His appointment as Commissioner for Lands and then Commerce from where he was elected LGA Chairman of Udenu was not for political patronage, rather these were positions earned through hard work and a track record service delivery. In fact, when he left as Commissioner for Lands there was such mass outcry that the workers staged a demonstration demanding to have him back.
One worthless Chika Idoko has been circulating drivels about Hon. Onah insinuating that Ugwuanyi has favored him because he is his cousin. Nothing could be far from the truth. Hon. Onah might be at the Federal level today if Ugwuanyi was not the Governor. Is Mr Idoko and his camp of hateful, evil, politically irrelevant and politically irreclaimable pot bellies suggesting that Hon. Onah should waive his right to present himself for election because he is related to Ugwuanyi? Is Hon. Onah not an individual of his own with a family of his own and with rights like any other Nigerian citizen to pursue his ambition?
At any rate Mr Idoko has cultivated for himself a dishonorable reputation for writing politically motivated nonsense about those he perceives to be on the rise, especially if the person is not from his camp of angry, greedy, hate ravaged, bitter politicians. Since Chika Idoko did not learn from the bitter experience of political lie peddlers, he will have to learn from his own bitter experience. In fact plans are under way to force the dishonorable Idoko to produce his pay masters or face justice.
One of the frontline demands of youths today is youth inclusion. In fact, there is currently a clamour for 50 percent youth inclusion in the politics of Enugu State. It is therefore perturbing that the same youths who are raising their voices today (and this is commendable) are still the same people attacking youths in politics. The nonsense one Chika Idoko scrambled together to disfigure and demean the reputation of Solomon Onah is borne out of envy, hatred and innate penchant for rancour. Is it now a crime for someone as eminently qualified as Hon. Onah to present himself for an elective position? If Chika Idoko feels threatened by the earned support of Udenu people for their son, why not convince Udenu people to vote him out? The falsehood Chika Idoko is circulating online is not an affront on Hon. Onah but on Udenu people who have tried and tested Hon. Onah and singled him out for leadership. Can someone tell Mr Idoko that Udenu people will not fold their arms and watch him demean Hon. Onah.
Chika Idoko had since joined the bandwagon of opposition. By now he has probably realised that his camp is on a wild goose chase and has turned to name calling. Meanwhile young people are purchasing forms to run for office, why not enter the ring? That’s where men and women prove their mettle.
Enugu should ignore people like Chika Idoko and consign their selfish agitation to the dustbin.
